The marker depicts the conclusion from Lincoln's famous Cooper Union Address:
"Let us have faith that right makes might, and in that faith, let us,
to the end, dare to do our duty as we understand it." The statue was a
gift of local citizens Elizabeth and John Magoun, and was unveiled on
April 5, 1924.Hastings Statue in
Sioux City, Iowa
Placed at an entrance to Grandview Park, this bronze work also
is a replica of one by W. Granville Hastings in Cincinnati, Ohio,
and likewise removes the figure of a kneeling woman. It stands on
a base of Minnesota granite.
